Judging Criteria
The shortlisted magazines will possess a high standard of imaginative design, photography, illustration and sales impact.
The successful titles will balance the image with the coverlines, and encapsulate the brand with something unexpected that grabs the attention of the consumer.
Covers should feature an exciting, astounding, challenging and intriguing main cover line, and an impactful image that leaps out from the crowded newsstand.
Judges will look for a cover that speaks to the audience, not the publishing art directors.
The shortlisted magazine cover must have been produced in its entirety by the local editorial team.
Whilst subjective, covers nominated must have achieved commercial success within the magazines set key objectives.
Judges have the right to determine the standard of an Award and to withhold an Award in any category if, in their view, entries are not of sufficient merit. Judges may reallocate an entry to a different category and recommend a special Award if they believe one is justified.
Please note: newspapers, newspaper magazine supplements, on-line, in-house and magazines published off-shore are not eligible. Entries must be cover dated from 1st July 2012 to 30th June 2013.
