The Presets: Pacifica

Creating a follow-up to a break-through album can be a nerve-racking process, however in the case of The Presets it’s even more so with their last album gaining triple Platinum success. The aussie electronic duo have recently released their third studio album, Pacifica and what better timing to appear on the cover of The Music Network magazine.
Keen fans have been able to listen to Pacifica on the duo’s facebook page with tracks being streamed through Modular People
With the pairs latest installment being described as a mix of’ ‘face-melting techno , ass-whoopin’ bass, snake-like synths and futuristic vibes’ Julian and Kim revealed to why it took 4 years to produce.
“When we finished the Apocalypso stuff we took a few months off but then we got back together and we’ve been pretty much working ever since. We wanted to have a break and we wanted people to have a break from us. So many bands the new single comes out just when you’re playing the last single off the old record and they never really go away. So it was nice to go away.”
The duo confirmed that fans should not be expecting a dub step album “No. No, definitely not. That’s a firm no.“ Julian revealed to inthemix, “more often than not hopefully, it’s something you want to dance to. We just try and make ‘us’ music and not worry too much about what’s happening on the radio, otherwise we’d just be making dubstep all day long.”
The Presets posted their music video for Ghosts last week in time for the upcoming release of Pacifica, which is already receiving a great response from fans.
